Plot Summary:August 1943. The Danish navy has a standing order not to let any ships fall into the hands of the Germans. When an alarm is sounded in the Baltic Sea, Lieutenant Gad and the rest of the crew on the minesweeper MS 1 have to make the difficult choice of whether to sink their ship or try a dangerous voyage to reach a safe harbor in Sweden.
